Mr. Jairo Diaz is a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Registered Psychology Associate in the state of Maryland. He holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University.

Mr. Diaz has extensive experience working with Spanish-speaking youth in school-based settings and crisis stabilization programs at Sheppard Pratt across Montgomery County, Maryland. He has a strong background in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and has worked with children and adolescents across various age ranges, helping them navigate trauma, anxiety, and emotional challenges.

His therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and person-centered therapy. He also has expertise in crisis de-escalation, suicide risk assessment, and providing therapeutic services to immigrant youth. Mr. Diaz believes in meeting clients where they are and taking a collaborative, individualized approach to treatment to best support their needs.

Recognizing the need for Spanish-speaking individuals to have greater access to psychological evaluation and assessment, Mr. Diaz is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School’s DC campus. Now in his third year, he hopes to specialize in evaluations for autism, ADHD, and learning disorders for children, adolescents, and adults.

Outside of his professional work, Mr. Diaz enjoys video games, indoor and outdoor skydiving, martial arts, and spending time with his dog.
